After 39 years in aerospace and high‑precision manufacturing, I founded Southern Grind with a simple belief — American machine shops deserve better from their current machine tool supplier.

For nearly four decades, I’ve worked across aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, and power generation industries. I’ve served as a senior aerospace engineer, senior manufacturing engineer, process development lead, programmer, and applications engineer. I’ve supported high‑level government programs and worked directly on production floors where tolerances matter and mistakes are expensive.

I understand machining from both sides — engineering theory and real‑world production demands. I understand machine limitations, integration challenges, downtime costs, and long‑term scalability. That perspective shapes every recommendation we make.

Why I Built Southern Grind

Too often, machines are sold without true understanding of the application. Specifications are pushed instead of evaluated. Margins outweigh customer outcomes. Growth planning is rarely part of the conversation.I built Southern Grind to change that.We don’t guess at machine selection.
